Jolie was baptized on February 3, 2013 at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma, LA. We originally wanted to baptize her at our church parish of St. Alphonsus here in Central, but because of scheduling and Lent, we would not have been able to do it until April. So we decided to baptize her at the same church I grew up in and where we were married.
Jolie was an angel! She only cried when they poured the cold water on her head. She was staring at the Deacon and listening intently throughout the whole thing.
Jolie's godparents are Andrée Daniel (Derek's Sister) and Eric Rome (Derek's Friend).
The christening gown she wore belonged to her great-great-grandfather, Van Calhoun. It is 102 years old and has been worn countless times by most of the family on the Calhoun side including my dad, my sisters and I. The gold christening pin on the dress is Derek's from his baptism. (She would not stay still for a good picture!)

It was a beautiful day! We are truly blessed in having this beautiful child and are happy to welcome her to our Catholic faith. We look forward to raising her in the faith and teaching her the ways of the church.
