8 Months

8 Months

(I had an 8 month photo shoot, but this one was so much cuter.)

Growth: 16 pounds 2 ounce and 27 inches long. She is definitely filling out and getting longer. She just moved into size 3 diapers. She is wearing 6-9 month and 9 month clothes. 

Food: Yay for 8 months of breastfeeding! She still nurses 3 times per day (once before daycare and twice in the evening). Jolie gets three 5 ounce bottles at daycare. She also eats solid foods 3 times per day now. Breakfast is usually yogurt, half of a banana, apple sauce or some other kind of fruit with cereal. Lunch is cereal with 1-2 different vegetables. Dinner is cereal mixed with 1-2 vegetables and a fruit or yogurt. She also enjoys eating puff snacks in between meals. She is also learning to use a sippy cup with juice (half juice/half water) or water. She is getting better with the sippy cup. She still needs a little help every now and then, but is getting more independent. She has yet to reject any food. Although, yogurt is by far her favorite food. She gets excited when she sees the container! This little girl loves to eat!

Sleep: Jolie is finally sleeping all night! She goes to sleep between 8:30-9:30 and I usually have to wake her up at 6 to feed her before daycare. She usually wakes between 6-7 on her own. This is when we are at home and she is in her room in her own bed. However, we recently discovered that she does not sleep well away from home while in a pack-n-play. She wakes multiple times per night and is restless. We are taking the suggestion from Amy Rome and making her a "mattress" for her pack-n-play. I'm going to buy a twin size egg crate mattress topper, cut it in half, glue it together with egg side inward and cover it for a nice mattress! Hopefully this will help. Especially since we are always on the go!

Daily Routine: I still do not enjoy waking up at 5 am, but I guess that is life. I get dressed for work and then wake her up to feed her. Then I dress her and we leave for the day. Daddy picks her up from daycare. I nurse her when I get home. Our evening is spent playing and snuggling! She has dinner around 7:30-8 before bath time. I nurse her once again before bed and then she goes to sleep between 8:30-9:30. At daycare she usually takes 2 good naps and then usually one shorter nap in the early evening.

Nicknames: Tootie Bug, Toot Toot, Baby Girl, Sweet Pea, Angel, Sweet Girl

Personality: We have such a happy baby! She is always smiling and laughing. She really only cries when she is hungry or tired. She continues to babble and talk all the time. Her favorite "word" is still "Da, Da, Da." She has been exploring other sounds and often squeals or shrieks. She also began talking to herself in the bathroom mirror during bath time. It is the cutest thing in the world!

Motor Milestones: This girl is now on the move! There is no stopping her now! She is now a crawling pro and goes from room to room in no time! She pulls up to standing on anything and everything (even the most unstable things such as toys or rocking chairs!). She has also stood for a few seconds without support. She also got her ears pierced on July 4th. She was a big girl with only a few tears.
